freedomFreedom: by Sandy Hollis
The Lord is up to something. He is up to something in me. He is up to something in middle TN, He is up to something in the U.S. It seems our country is in some of it’s greatest times of moral struggle and yet the Lord is raising up and waking up His followers. I have long been a person who has sat back and watched, sat back and watched the world go by, sat back and have been silent. I have been apathetic and asleep…for far too long. The Lord is calling His church to wake up and He’s calling His creation back to life. It is time to rise up, time to fight.

I love how the Lord speaks. He constantly speaks in love, but consistently challenges me to do more, be more, because there is so much more in Him! I feel like the Lord was speaking to me last night, not only for me, but for others. There are so many hurting, broken people in the world and in the body of Christ, and the Lord has come to bring healing and wholeness for everyone; yes, everyone! If you are one needing encouragement or healing, this is for you!

The Lord reminded me last night that Jesus has come to bind up the broken hearted, to bring freedom to the captives, to release the prisoners, to bring comfort to all who mourn, to make beauty out of the ashes out of all of our pain, our hurts, our past. (Isa 61). The Lord reminded me that He knit us together in our mother’s womb, He knows every hair on our heads–He knows all, sees all, and longs to love us, to heal us, and redeem all areas of our lives. (Ps 139) You see, He says, “Behold, I make all things new!”(Rev. 21:5) Nothing is wasted–nothing is wasted in the Kingdom of God!

I want to share with you my favorite verse because it completely baffles me. Zeph 3:17–“The Lord your God is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with His love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” He will rejoice over YOU, He will rejoice over ME with singing! How much must He love His crazy, messy creation to rejoice over us when we fail on a daily basis. What ridiculous love, mercy, compassion, and grace. I am not worthy in and of myself for that kind of love. I am only made worthy through the blood that Jesus shed for me on the cross. You are made worthy of that kind of love, you are worthy through the blood of Jesus. Unfathomable, but true.

In this worthiness can be found freedom; freedom to be who you are designed to be. You don’t have to strive to please anyone here on this earth, only to love God and chase after Him. In Him there is freedom, healing, love, redemption, restoration and SO MUCH MORE! No one can take the journey for you, but they can walk with you. This journey to know and love Christ is not the easiest thing you will ever do, but it is so worth it. I am not the same as I once was and there is no other explanation other than the love of Christ. And if He can do it for me and work in and through me, He can do it for you!

Lord, reveal to us in an new way your deep love for us, your children. Erase how we view ourselves and open up our eyes to see ourselves through your eyes. Break off the chains of the lies that have been spoken over us by others, the enemy, and ourselves. Reveal to us our worth and value in You and give us a hunger and thirst for the truth of Your Word, give us eyes to see You in all we meet. May we walk in the freedom and peace of your great love for us and the security that your arm is never too short to rescue us, your hand never to small too hold and protect us. Surround us with your love this day and always, in Jesus’ name. AMEN!
